• Make a copy of the spreadsheet (per class)
  • Authorize the Add-on
  • Import your Google Classrooms
  • Select your CURRENT Google Classroom.
  • Import assignments from old classrooms using Reuse GC
  • Edit in the spreadsheet, checkbox, and reuse to current classroom.
  • STOP: Create your assignments FROM Reuse GC (always) instead of directly in Google Classroom.

Reuse GC allows you to manage your Google Classroom. It is an UNOFFICIAL add-on for Google Sheets. You will get a scary warning that it is not approved by Google. However, it is safe. Collects NO DATA.

Best feature is you can reuse multiple assignments at once to Google Classroom.

A key advantage of “Reuse GC” is its ability to prevent the duplication of assignment attachments in Google Drive. When a whole Google Classroom is copied, every attached file is also duplicated, leading to a cluttered and confusing file system. “Reuse GC” avoids this by creating new assignment posts that link to the original documents, ensuring a cleaner and more manageable Google Drive.

Use Reuse GC for New Assignments

Reuse GC can only manage assignments that it created. What I do is I bulk create 10 assignments and use the numbering feature so they are ready to go with the right number. These are now drafts in my Google Classroom. Then when I need to make an assignment, I edit one of these draft assignments so that it was generated by Reuse GC and also it’s numbered so I don’t have to remember what number I am on.
