Universal Design For Learning, is a framework to improve teaching and learning by planning for all types of learners, with a focus on equity and student centered learning. I was first introduced to 'Explore Boards' from Holly Clark, with the Infused Classroom. Here is her blog with a complete explanation and a sample board for "The Outsiders" book. In summary, explore boards give students choices from a variety of mediums and resources to explore the topic, concept or novel to be taught. Give learners time to investigate a topic and then debrief with partners using various technology tools.
I was immediately inspired to create an explore board for UDL, to introduce teachers, coaches, mentors and administrators to UDL. I presented this at #SpringCUE 2022, here's the full presentation.

Create Your Own Explore Board
Hopefully you are inspired to start creating an explore board. Here is a blank one to get started. Some things to consider are; the age of your learners. Maybe they will need less resources to choose from. If you select video or podcasts, learners will need headphones. Consider the interactions and how students will share out what they have explored.
