The quickest way to communicate with your class or send information for students to review or collaborate on is by, Sending An Announcement. On the sidebar click on Announcements then click on the + symbol and start typing. You can also use the Canvas App on your phone to quickly send an announcement to just one class or to all of your courses. I recommend installing the Teacher Canvas App on your phone or tablet for sending announcements, interacting with students, and viewing certain assignments and pages. When a teacher sends an announcement, an email is sent to notify the students of this activity.

10 Ideas For Daily Announcements
Consider using Announcements to inform, inspire, excite and motivate your students.
Sending an announcement with a short video, welcoming students, sharing something relevant or funny, helps to build and create an effective learning community.
Here are 10 ideas my colleagues and I came up with:
- Daily Objective-”Students will……..”
- Daily Agenda-”What are we doing today?”
- Send A Link To A Google Slide Deck-have each student add a slide and answer a question or respond to a prompt

Students Reply To The Announcement--Collaboration
Students can reply to the Announcement and “like” replies if those options are selected. This allows students to collaborate and communicate their thoughts or ideas immediately. An Announcement is similar to an announcement in Google Classroom, on the stream. Having students reply to the announcement might be a “do now”, “warm-up”, “brainstorm”, “exit slip” or an opportunity to get students excited about the lesson. The “options” for an announcement are accessible by clicking edit in the right-hand corner, of the announcement. You can also delay the posting of the announcement.
