Freezing Google Sheets Columns
I prefer to hover my mouse to the left of column indicator A and use the grabby hand to drag to the right to freeze columns. Alternatively you can go to the View menu and select Freeze.

Sorting in Google Sheets
The menus in Google Sheets have changed. To sort Google Form responses in the spreadsheet first by date and then by name you would need to use the Data menu and choose "Sort range." And select Advanced range sorting options so you can sort by multiple things.

Timer - Google Forms Time Check
A member's school is going virtual the week after thanksgiving. To help hold them accountable try having a Google Forms Time check. Set a timer (don't tell them how long) and they will fill in the Google Form when the timer goes off. Screenshare the Form and it asks for "password." You put the password in. And another question asks them to answer something. Teacher submit. Then Students fill in the form. But their responses with the password should show up AFTER the teacher does it. These are all time stamped so you would know they participated throughout the period.
