A college professor recently mentioned on twitter they were interested in having students collaborate more, in class. They are tired of only hearing from 2-3 students. They didn’t want the hassle of too many logins, security issues, set ups, etc. and yet wanted to “integrate” it into CANVAS LMS. My reply was, “Give @padlet a try.” It’s web-based, able to embed directly to a CANVAS Page, has an easy to use platform that includes safety sharing permissions, but mostly allows you to hear from ALL students! Students can share their responses to your prompt using a variety of media, by name or anonymously.
I decided to use Padlet for my students to share their #oneword2023, check it out. When I created my wall I was very impressed by the updated platform. Although you are not able to make unlimited walls for free, you can always delete and reuse, or just subscribe. I support paying for Padlet, which to me, means it is worth more to me than something else I can find or create. Padlet is one of my all time favorite tools.
